Pixar's New Original Animation Will Feature All-Latino Cast

The film will be released to theaters in late 2017.

On April 25, 2012, Pixar announced their new animated film "Coco." Now with everything set, the animated film will feature an all Latino cast for all the characters in the film. The film will be directed by Toy Story 3's director, Lee Unkrich and producer Darla K. Anderson along with Co-Director Adrian Molina.

The story is about a 12-year-old boy by the name of Miguel Rivera who lives in Mexico and is obsessed with music. The problem is that his family hate music and think that they are cursed by it.

The family has a ban on any music. It is told that Miguel's great - great grandfather abandoned Miguel's grandmother Imelda to take control of a thriving clothing line and declared music dead to the family forever.

In efforts to break the generations long curse, Miguel has a secret desire to become an aspiring musician. He looks up to the late Ernesto de la Cruz finding a connection between them. Miguel accidently took it a little too far and ended up entering the Land of the Dead. When in the beautiful underworld, Miguel sees into the souls of his family including his ancestors and his great-grandmother Imelda. In the Land of the Dead, Miguel tries to find De la Cruz but encounters a friendly sugar skull spirit by the name of Hector. Hector helps Miguel look for De la Cruz to return to the Land of the Living before time runs out.

The film will be released to theaters on November 22, 2017.
