Nearly eight months into the coronavirus pandemic, scientists and researchers continue to learn more about the novel coronavirus, and its impact on the human body. They say those dangers could extend beyond the well-known pulmonary risks.

Coronavirus cases in the Midwest are rising and experts say the region could become the next hotspot, Missouri is among those states experiencing a rise. To discuss this, we spoke to Mati Hlatshwayo Davis, an infectious disease expert in St. Louis Missouri.

"It is statistically proven that people who are in prison, for the most part, are racialized," says Janvieve Williams Comrie, executive director of Afroresistance. She is a social worker and human rights defender, dedicated to shining a light on injustices and discrimination against this prison minorities.

New models predicting the death toll due to coronavirus could hit 230,000 by November in the US. This as health officials say the Midwest is the new hot spot and states are taking precautions bracing for the surge.

“We are going to look into it very powerfully,” Trump said Thursday during a meeting with the family of murdered Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen, who traveled to Washington, DC to advocate for a bill to reform the military justice system's handling of sexual abuse cases.

“When I test my patients in my outpatient practice, it’s sometimes taking an excess of 14 days to get the results back which is not acceptable,” says Dr. Adrian Burrowes, a family medicine physician in Florida.
