How to cook the perfect jasmine rice!

This recipe is quite simple, yet one that’ll help you everyday ―being that rice makes the perfect side. Jasmine rice tastes incredible, not to mention that its aroma is absolutely delicious. The ingredients for this recipe are very affordable. Also, what you’ll love most is that it could either be cooked in a pot or in a rice cooker.

Cooking rice is very simple as long as you know the measurements. There are several tricks, like adding 2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil that won’t allow for the rice to stick together. However, there is so much more, but first let’s get to the ingredients.

What you’ll need

  • Jasmine Rice
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Cooking sea salt (optional)
  • Water

Preparation 

Start by measuring the amount of rice that you are going to use. For instance, a good trick is to use a small cup in which you usually pour water for this measurement. Carefully fill it up twice with the jasmine rice and place it inside the container in which you’re going to cook.

Repeat the same step, but with water instead and add an extra half a cup of water. Consider that it’s 2 parts rice and 2 ½ parts water. Incorporate the extra virgin olive oil and place it on a medium setting if you’re using a stove. If what you’re using is the rice cooker just place it on the cooking setting and wait for it to be done.

The salt is always optional, but it gives the food more flavor. The best time to make use of it is after you poured the oil. Once the rice is cooked, stir it using a fork and serve!
