God and Nixon, never Trump or Hillary

Known as the ‘Chicano in the White House,’ Henry M. Ramírez was instrumental in campaigning for Republican Richard Nixon and getting him 30% of the Latino vote. In 1972 he was appointed chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Opportunities for Spanish Speaking People by the president.

A devout Catholic, Ramirez’s political values are guided by his religious ones. In this election, he finds Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton equally abhorrent. “They’re both nightmares,” Ramirez says. He will write in Jeb Bush as his presidential choice.
