How about a thriller to get your blood pumping? Lucy, starring Scarlett Johansson as the title character, will take you to a world where a woman gets caught up in some dark dealings and begins to evolve into an amazing warrior. Plot twists and turns with keep your riveted and action scenes will amaze you. Save this one for a weekend because you’ll want to grab some dinner after to talk about it, for sure.
Guardians of the Galaxy (Starring Chris Pratt and Zoey Saldana)
For the science fiction fan try Guardians of the Galaxy. Adventurer Peter Quill becomes the target of a bounty hunt because he’s stolen an magic orb that, of course, could threaten the entire universe. Together with his band of misfits, Quill goes on an otherworldly adventure that is both extremely comical and exceptionally entertaining. This might surprise you and be a favorite for the whole family.
Edge of Tomorrow (Starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt)
What would Summer be without a Tom Cruise action film? Once again he delivers with Edge of Tomorrow, a futuristic, action packed film to rival some of Cruise’s best. As Major William Cage, Cruise finds himself on a mission he isn’t prepared for. With some serious time-looping and a comedic undertone, you’ll find this film both exciting and hilarious.
The Fault in Our Stars (Starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort)
Finally, something for the soft at heart. The Fault in Our Stars, based on the book of the same name, is the heartbreaking story of two teens fighting cancer and their complicated and beautiful relationship. This one is getting a lot of great buzz so don’t miss it. Bring the tissues because this one will make your eyes leak.
