Felipe Alarcón put the Drug War in the hands of 'El Chapo'
In the 'El Chapo' series, once Felipe Alarcón has declared war against drug-trafficking, Joaquín Guzmán Loera decided to finish off 'El Cano' and 'Chente' not knowing the violence this would unleash.
In episode seven of ‘El Chapo’s season two, Felipe Alarcón made his first trip as president and payed a visit to the president of the United Sates, who congratulated him for the victory.

The American president affirmed that Mexico was a priority of his administration, and that they needed to discuss security matters.

Alarcón answered that security and drug-trafficking matters would be the pilars of his term, but that he would need the support of the United States to fight the great lords of organized crime.

Besides, he explained that he would declare the war on drug-trafficking from the beginning of his mandate in order to pacify the population. The American president assured him the United States would support him with a supply of weapons.

Two weeks later, Alarcón was sworn in as the new Mexican president in the midst of fraud accusations by the opponent parties and parts of society.

He assured the media that he had started a Mexico-US strategy against organized crime, and he claimed to have all necessary weaponship for the battle.

The president used the interview to affirm in a playful tone that he wished for “every toy I can use for the drug war”.

While the new term started, ‘El Chapo’ and ‘Don Sol’ got together to agree on a new action plan between the government and his organization.

‘Don Sol’ informed him that they would all work together from that moment on, under the supervision of a single authority.

‘El Chapo’ insisted he would take the Nuevo Laredo territory from ‘El Cano’ and ‘Los Emes’, who would have no way out from the joint attacks of ‘La Federación’, military men and federal police officers.

When he said goodbye, Joaquín Guzmán Loera assured him the drug war would be a success.

Later, lawyer Lora met with ‘Don Sol’ to discuss the details of the war against ‘Los Emes’. Conrado introduced him to the army commanders and the officers who would take care of the operatives.

Conrado promised him the American weapons would get to the soldiers of ‘La Federación’ while they gathered enough information to vanquish ‘El Cano’.

Meanwhile, Guzmán Loera attended the last public event before disappearing into the war against his greatest enemy.

The drug lord was thrilled to see her on the stage. Toño noticed ‘El Chapo’ was nervous to know the results, so he assured him Elba would win.

Moments later, Elba was crowned as 2006 queen. She was flooded by happiness and couldn’t hold the tears.

Satisfied, the drug lord from Sinaloa looked on with joy at his new love’s happiness.

After the celebration, ‘El Chapo’ told her he would be away for a long time, fixing issues related to his business.

Guzmán Loera talked to Ismael and told him he wanted to turn Sinaloa into the biggest organization in the world. To achieve it, he would need to take control of the borders of Nuevo Laredo and Juárez, which was still under possession of his partner ‘Chente’.

Ismael was instantly suspicious, he noticed ‘El Chapo’ wanted to take away ‘Chente’s business to avenge his brother. ‘El Chapo’ couldn’t deny his wish for revenge and confirmed his suspicions.

Joaquín met with ‘Don Sol’ to inform him that Juárez needed to be in the attack plans; completely controlling the border would be a better business.

‘Don Sol’ was hesitant upon hearing that, but he was convinced and asked the famous drug lord to vanquish ‘Chente’ and ‘El Cano’ quickly.

The leaders of ‘La Federación’ were summoned to listen to the new task of the organization.

‘El Chapo’ informed everyone that the deals with ‘Chente’ were off: he was no longer a member of ‘La Federación’.

However, Guzmán Loera gave him the choice to retire if he was too uncomfortable at the decision, but the head of ‘La Familia Michoacana’ decided to stay rather than acquiring a new mortal enemy.

In his war room, the high military and police officers were agreeing the strategic points to attack Juárez and Nuevo Laredo, but they didn’t know there were infiltrated men amongst them.

On December 11 th 2006, accompanied by high rank military officers, president Alarcón announced the drug war, which would eradicate drug fields, sale points and distribution.

Two moths later, the government wasn’t satisfied by the results. The conflicts in Nuevo Laredo and Juárez were ongoing and victims kept piling up.

At the end, ‘Los Emes’ set up a banner that said that not even ‘El Chapo’, the army, and the police all together could take them down.

Next morning, Conrado watched the news about the killing and he was filled with rage upon realizing ‘El Cano’ had exposed the alliance between the government and ‘El Chapo’.

‘El Chapo’ also heard about the situation and called ‘Don Sol’ to reassure him and tell him about the answer he would give ‘El Cano’.
