More than half of labor trafficking complaints in North Texas expose the victim to deportation

Gonzalo Martínez de Vedia, program manager at the Buffett-McCain Institute to Combat Modern Slavery, says that in the Texas Panhandle chances are slim that a labor trafficking complaint will end in favor of a victim. Workers know that if they report to police, their exploiters are not likely to end up in jail or even to face charges.
