Breast feeding is a special bond between a mother and her baby. There are times in which a lot of women give up breast feeding for various reasons. ―Many make such a decision without being aware of the incredible advantages her breast milk could give the infant.

A post found on the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) covered a topic which focused on the importance of breast feeding and its advantages. For instance, when a child is born he or she is extremely susceptive to diseases and/ or infections being that his or her body is not fully developed.

Breast milk is unique and full of nutrients most of which cannot be replaced or found in any formula.

According to the site, several studies have been conducted and these are the results:

Breast-fed children are more resistant to disease and infection early in life than formula-fed children. Breast-fed children are less likely to contract a number of diseases later in life, including juvenile diabetes, multiple sclerosis, heart disease, and cancer before the age of 15. Mothers who breastfeed are less likely to develop osteoporosis later in life, are able to lose weight gained during pregnancy more easily and have a lower risk of breast, uterine and ovarian cancer.

Solutions

Many women mention how breast feeding is painful. If this occurs, speak to your doctor and work out a plan that will benefit your child as well as yourself. Perhaps, your career or lifestyle may not permit for you to spend too much time with your new born, then breast pumping is a great option to take into consideration.

Overtime, the results will be noticeable in your son our daughters health.
