In the 'El Chapo' series, Joaquín Guzmán Loera has corrupted the authorities in order to regain his freedom and escape from prison. He now seeks vengeance in order to become the most powerful drug lord in Mexico.
On episode 2 of the second season of 'El Chapo', Dámaso Gálvez Jiménez started working on his assignment: to set things up for Guzman Loera’s escape from the Puente Grande Penitentiary.

In the year 2000, the Mexican election changed the drug lord’s plans. The candidate of the ruling party had lost the race, thus ruining their agreement to set him free. The new president had plans to extradite the drug trafficker to the US.

In order to prevent the extradition, Guzmán Loera ordered Dámaso to corrupt the authorities with large sums of money in exchange for cooperation with the escape.
