Some lucky fans got to see Paul McCartney join rockers the Killers onstage during a private New Year's Eve (December 31st) bash in St. Barts and tackle the Beatles' "White Album" classic, "Helter Skelter." Vintage Vinyl News posted: "The event was a party put on by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich who also happens to be an owner of England's Chelsea football (soccer) club." McCartney has announced the first international dates for his 2017 "One On One" tour. "Macca" will hit Japan in the spring, playing three shows at Tokyo's The Dome on April 27th, 29th, and 30th. McCartney said in a statement announcing the concerts: "I’m really excited to be taking the 'One On One' Tour to Japan. We always have an amazing time there and the audiences have always been so brilliant. We have such special memories from our last trip and we look forward to making many more this time round. Let’s rock Japan!"

  • Although once on the road his set lists don't vary much from night to night, McCartney says that at the start of each tour he likes to throw a few unproven rarities in to shake up the mix: "I just like doing it, and whenever I go out on tour it's exciting to stick a few things in that I haven't done before, just 'cause then it's sort of like there's a bit of a nervous edge to it, which is quite cool -- except on the first night when you think 'Why did I do this? Why didn't I stay safe?'"
