A new clip has surfaced showing Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl listening to what is believed to be the first song he ever wrote. The track is called "Gods Look Down" and the segment in which Grohl reviews it was apparently filmed for the Foos' 2014 HBO series Sonic Highways but never aired. The clip was uploaded by Barrett Jones, owner of Laundry Room Studios and co-producer of the Foos' self-titled 1995 debut album.

  • According to Diffuser , "Gods Look Down" had originally been recorded in 1989 by Scream, the hardcore band in which Grohl was a member when he lived in Washington, D.C, but was kept unreleased until the band's 1993 Fumble.
  • In comments posted under the video, it's stated that the version in the clip is "the first song (Grohl) ever recorded on his own playing all the instruments."
