Daryl Hall & John Oates have rescheduled their three California tour dates with Tears For Fears for next month. Back on July 25th, Tears For Fears bassist Curt Smith announced that he needed to deal with a "family emergency" -- with Smith tweeting: "I am home. I know there are many questions, but I ask that you respect the privacy of those affected at this time. Much love."
The newly announced dates are: September 14th and 15 at L.A.'s Staples Center, and September 17th at San Jose's SAP Center.
A large part of both Hall & Oates and Tears For Fears' '80s chart successes can be attributed to nearly non-stop MTV airplay. Daryl Hall told us the era's videos proved to be a priceless marketing tool: "It allowed us to reach a mass audience in a way that nobody had ever really done. It was definitely a force that changed people's perception or music. I don't necessarily think it was for the good, but it certainly opened up new avenues of ways of appealing and getting to people -- y'know, the whole visual thing, which didn't obviously exist before that. I don't know. It allowed us to be bigger than we may have been for that period of time. I don't know. You could be a bigger star than you were if you were just a radio star."
