DEAD OR ALIVE FRONTMAN PETE BURNS DEAD AT 57

Pollstar reported that the androgynous Burns died of a heart attack.

Dead Or Alive frontman Pete Burns, best known for the band's 1985 Number 11 hit, "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" has died at age 57. Pollstar reported that the androgynous Burns -- who was the son of an Austrian refugee and a Liverpudlian mother, died of a heart attack. Burns' death was announced by his management via twitter, with the statement, "All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star. He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories he has left us with."

Dead Or Alive only scored one more U.S. Top 40 hit, 1987's "Brand New Lover," and over the years, Burns became unrecognizable due to his fully transgendered appearance coupled with drastic plastic surgery.
