What can a president pardon people for? “The constitution is clear, presidents have the right of full pardon over anyone except it doesn't say that they can pardon themselves. So, I think it’s very broad, but [there's] no precedent for a president pardoning himself,” says Barbara Perry, the director of presidential studies at the University of Virginia's Miller Center.
