We're taking a look back at the first Lethal Weapon movie

This classic film about two cops becoming best of friends.

Let's go back to March 6, 1987 when the first Lethal Weapon was released. This was the film that started it all with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Gibson played Martin Riggs, who was a former Army soldier that turned suicidal after the death of his wife and Glover played Roger Murtaugh who was a veteran of 50 years in the Los Angeles Police Department.

When the movie was released it grossed over $120 million with a production budget of $15 million. This success was the beginning of a four film franchise that grew into a television series.
