Couple Escapes Being A Statistic on Escalator Ride

At a subway station in Suzhou, a city located in eastern China, a couple narrowly escapes becoming a statistic with a malfunctioning escalator. In the video, you see the couple walk onto the escalator platform when it suddenly opens up underneath them. The couple walked onto the step riding up as the platform crumbles behind them.

The escalator company quickly stopped the escalator and started their repairs about four hours after the incident was reported to authorities.
