On December 16, 2003, Petey Pablo released his single, "Freek-A-Leek" from his second album Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry. Freek-A-Leek was produced by Lil Jon and was put under a special sub-category of Southern Hip Hop called "Crunk."

It was back in 2001, Petey Pablo caught the attention of Timbaland and also the attention of the A&R manager of Jive Records. These two helped Petey land a deal with the record label. As soon as he signed on, he released "Raise Up" which was an instant success.

The release of his second album Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry was originally set to be released in 2002. Due to complications between the label and Petey, it was dropped two years later.

This classic jam came in at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 back in May 2004.
