The song followed success from Monica's other single's like "This Boy Is Mine" and "The First Night" topping the Billboard Hot 100 at number one. The song also peaked at the top of the Hot R&B /Hip Hop chart at number two. At the end of 1999, the song peaked at number 3 on the Billboard End of the Year Hot 100 chart. The title also saw success at number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100 Decade-End (1990 - 1999) chart.
"Angel of Mine" was certified platinum by the Record Industry Association of America selling over a million units.
