Classic Jam: Chamillionaire - Ridin' ft. Krayzie Bone

"Ridin'" was released by rapper Chamillionaire from the album The Sound of Revenge featuring rapper Krayzie Bone from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on January 12, 2006.

The song highlights police brutality and racial profiling that the law typically stereotypes that African Americans ride dirty, meaning that they are carrying contraband.

The music video portrays police pulling over accussed persons of interest and abusing their powers when conducting a traffic stop. Filmed in Dallas, Texas the music video has cameo appearances by artists in the hip-hop industry such as: Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, Play-N-Skillz, Chingo Bling, Og Ron, Tom Lister Jr. and Big Tuck.

The song gained plenty of attention and peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks straight after it's release. The song won "Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards and Best Rap Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. The song hit platinum status by the Recording Industry Association of America four times selling over 4 million units in the United States alone.

The song had fit into pop culture of the times when Weird Al Yankovic released his own parody version of "Ridin'" called "White & Nerdy." Also, after a win by the Major League Baseball team the Houston Astros, they played the track through the speakers of the stadium.
