Family spokesmen Simon Halls has confirmed that the actress who played Princess Leia Organa in the original Star Wars films has died at the age of 60.

The actor suffered a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles on December 23rd.

Fisher was on a flight bound from London to Los Angeles when she had a heart attack about 15 minutes from landing at LAX. A nearby passenger who was an EMT performed CPR on Fisher once the flight landed. Paramedics immediately rushed Fisher to UCLA Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on December 27 at 8:55a.m. (Pacific Time).
Fisher was on tour for her new book called The Princess Diarist. The book had made the headlines because she spoke about having an affair with her Star Wars co-star Harrison Ford while shooting the original Star Wars movies.
Fisher is survived by her daughter Billie Lourde, her brother Todd Fisher and sisters Tricia and Joely Fisher.
