The movie "Space Jam" was released on November 15, 1996 featuring basketball legend Michael Jordan. Things were looking up for Jordan as he was enjoying his retirement from the Chicago Bulls. The Looney Tunes have to play a game of basketball against space creatures by the name of Nerdlucks whose plan to capture the Looney Tunes to be part of a failing amusement park in another galaxy. The Looney Tunes ask Michael Jordan's for help against the Nerdlucks who stole other professional basketball player's talent calling themselves, The Monstars. Jordan agrees creating The ToonSquad.
Space Jam had a budget of $80 million and took in over $230 million in the United States during it's box office debut.
The movie is star studded with celebrities and professional athletes with the likes of Michael Jordan, Bill Murray, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson and many others.
The soundtrack was successful entirely in itself with music from R. Kelly, Steve Miller Band, LL Cool J, Chris Rock, Quad City DJ's, Seal and many more artists. The soundtrack went platinum six times.
