Push forward some of the strongest projections for renters across the entire city during my time on the council in fact the strongest projections in four years, including lowering increase in stabilized units that lowered rent increases for over a million and a half angelinos.

I'm very very proud of that work, but we do need to do so much more to lower costs. This city is too expensive and it is pushing working families out and i'm really frustrated by the fact that this mayer.

We have to be able to ensure that the city is getting out of the way of longest permitting timelines for a new construction housing shortage. And then we try and stop the construction of new housing here in this city.

And if we can reduce red tape make sure that the city is getting out of the way ensure that we're zoning for housing near transit we can actually build a lot more of exactly the kind of housing that we need housing for families housing for working people and i think people can expect to see relief when this housing comes online. We've taxed ourselves on homelessness to provide shelter and services every single dollar needs to be accounted for every single dollar needs to make sure that shelters. We are not doing that right now this has not appointed people for oversight and accountability.

That is exactly what i want to do in my plan. Actually reduce commitment across the entire city by half in years before the olympics and we can actually address all across the city in four years.

That's my goal. It's possible to do that i know how to do that.

I have the experience from my own district and i want to do it. Citywide.

En el tema de seguridad pública, su postura sobre la policía ha evolucionado con el tiempo. Antes apoyaba reducir el lapd y ahora dice que no debería disminuir.

Dónde se encuentra y cómo se traduce eso en más o menos seguridad . Supported budgets that have maintained or even expanded our police force, but i think public safety is so important for angelinos.

It's i'm a mother of young children year old twins their safety and the safety of all of our neighborhoods is so important to me, but i think we need to get serious about safety right now here in the city of los angeles. We are paying half a billion dollars more annually and we have a thousand five hundred four police officers than we did just a few years ago.

And that happened under this meyers. Watch.

We need to make sure that we're getting serious about how we respond to calls for service on nine. One one right now.

Many people feel like nine. One one calls are very slow.

And it is true the times have increased. We are not able to get officers to respond to every call for service that residents have.

How are we going to ensure that we're delivering for angelinos. That's a system of public safety that i want to build can we take some of those calls for service that may require a mental health officer or a crisis off call load thousands of calls that are coming in that actually require an armed police officer to come out.

Let's build out that system of alternative response to that mental health calls can be answered by other individuals and actually ensure that we have armed officers responding and preventing crime across the entire city in order to build out that system. You have to get serious about the question of public safety.

That's a kind of seriousness that i want to bring to this question. Sobre redadas migratorias.

What we've seen in the last year has been fear and enacted upon residence of this city by a horrific force by coming in snatching people kidnapping people this city should be safe for immigrants. That's what i authored the cities sanctuary city ordinance and i want to make sure that los angeles really stands up and is the city.

That is the biggest sanctuary that is sets itself up as a model for other cities across america. We're not seeing that urgency right now we need to ensure that we are actually proactively showing when federal law enforcement violating constitutional protections on our streets.

We need to do much more of that we need to make sure l. A.

P. D is not collaboration with ice or even appear to be collaborating with ice many angelinos have lost trust that they're local law enforcement is here to protect them because they appear to be working with federal law enforcement that ends when i am mayor that ends completely when i am mayor, we also need to ensure that community organizations are not left on their own to respond to this crisis so much of the organizing in response to ice has been community organizations.

That are actually going out there raising dollars and responding to these issues on the streets by themselves when the office will be the backbone of our response to ensure that community organizations have the resources and support that they need to address this issue and that the city can be something that they rely on every single day. Y. I have a real focus on the issues that matter for every single resident of the city an immigrant to the city myself i came here to los angeles because for me and my family it was a city of real opportunity and i wanted to be that for every single person.

Who comes here? I feel like this city.

Has abandoned that the cost of living. Here is too high .

The cost of housing. Here is too high.

And this city is simply not doing enough to address those issues and i want to experience to address those issues and i have the focus and urgency to make sure that los angeles remains a place of opportunity into the future. I also want to say that as an immigrant.

I really feel like this city needs to be a place that welcomes immigrants into the future and i'm very committed to doing that as mayor. And desde que se haya elegido preguntar, todas las propuestas que tiene, vienen acompañadas o deben venir acompañadas de un presupuesto?
