¿Qué sucedió? No, los aliens no llegaron a la Gran Manzana (o al menos no lo sabemos), sino que hubo una explosión en una estación de energía eléctrica, de acuerdo a la BBC.
El Departamento de Policía de NY publicó en Twitter que «confirmamos el incidente en Astoria. Fue el resultado de una explosión en un transformador. [...] No hay evidencia de actividad extraterrestre».

Pero, ¿por qué esa luz verde azulada? Según el sitio, el color es el resultado de la electricidad al pasar a través del aire. La electricidad elimina los electrones de los átomos del aire y al recombinarse los átomos excitados, emiten esa luz azulada y verdosa.
