How to prevent a shark attack

Coastal cities have often reported many shark attacks. The reality is that no one is exempt from the bites of these ferocious fishes. However, there are ways of preventing a shark from biting you. A lot has to do with what you wear and how you behave in the water.

What you should avoid

Shiny jewelry could resemble fish scales in a sharks eye because of its shine. Neon colors such as: orange, yellow and even white and silver are the tones that attract the most attention. Before getting into waters that are known to prone danger, remove all unnecessary jewelry.

With this in mind, use common sense, don’t get into murky waters. If you happen to be with children, avoid splashing as this attracts a lot of attention. In case a shark comes near you, slowly walk into any group of people and towards the shore; sharks usually attack those who are by themselves.

Upon an attack, defend yourself and get out of the water. Apply pleasure to the wound and immediately call 911.
