IN PHOTOS: The destructive path of Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean, as Florida gets ready
The dangerous Category 5 hurricane hit the French/Dutch island of St Martin/St Maarten on Wednesday, 150 miles east of Puerto Rico, before moving on to the Dominican Republic and the Virgin Islands. By Saturday it's winds had dropped to 130 mph after making landfall in Cuba.
