Nathan Patterson was hanging out with his brother Christian at Coors Field during a Colorado Rockies game. Nathan's life changed when he decided to try out the speed pitch challenge.
Casual trip to baseball game lands contract for 23-year-old
Throwing some heat

After a few tries, Nathan hit 90, then 94 twice then a sweet 96 MPH on the radar.
Guys, we were just chillin at a @rockies baseball game, and my brother decided to step into a speed pitch challenge...he hit 96 mph 😳 @MLB Let’s get him signed! pic.twitter.com/g0fKrvUxzt

A few weeks later, the left-handed viral speed pitch caught the attention of the Athletic A's and signed the 23-year-old to a minor league contract.
Nathan's pitch hit 96 on the radar gun which is in line with some of the major league pitchers. We bet the Colorado Rockie's scouts are kicking themselves for not signing this guy, as for all it was in their house.
