Delicious tilapia with strawberry sauce recipe

If you tend to have a sweet tooth, this recipe will be among your favorites. Strawberries are not only used on sweet dishes, but could be incorporated into salty ones too.  Experience for yourself how delicious a strawberry sauce over tilapia is.

What you will need

  • 1 cup of quartered fresh strawberries 
  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Red wine

Preparation

Place your stove on medium heat. In a small saucepan add: 1 tablespoon of olive oil - once its hot, incorporate the strawberries, sugar, sea salt, pepper, wine and lemon juice. The strawberries will begin to melt. Allow for the entire sauce to come to a boil, the estimated time for this to happen is about 3 minutes.

Prepare and cook the tilapia how you normally would; an easy and tasty way is by adding sea salt and pepper.  On a plate, place the fish and pour the sauce over it. If you notice, little pieces of strawberries, don’t take them out as they are going to make the fish taste even better. As a recommendation, great sides for this dish are coleslaw and asparagus.
