What is the best age to get pregnant?

There are and have been many cases in which women feel or felt pressured to give birth. Consider that as a woman you have the right to choose if children are in your future or not. After over analyzing that the clock is ticking, there are certain facts that you should know about, like  fertility and the right time to conceive.

Motherhood, is it time?

If you’re prolonging the time in which you want to get pregnant, this is perfectly fine as every women should have the right to do so. However, clinically there are several factors that contribute to a women getting pregnant. As an example, her age is one of them. Conceiving a baby during your 20’s is not the same as in your 40+.

When you’re born your body starts developing and your ovaries age with you. Therefore, the amount of eggs which you had at a given point in life (during your 20's) will decrease as time passes.

An article posted at the New Health Guide states:

Women reach their highest fertility rate between the ages of 20 -24. Women engaging in lovemaking every two or three days have an 80% chance to conceive within one year and 92% chance to become pregnant within two years after stopping contraception.

As previously stated, the younger you are the more chances of getting pregnant you may have. However, the post also informs women on the following:

For women, fertility does decrease after the age of 30, dropping radically after 35. While it may be more difficult in some cases, many women conceive without difficulty until the age of 35. After 35, it becomes increasingly more difficult and the chances of miscarriage or birth disorders with the child do increase. By the age of 40, it is estimated that 2 in 5 women who wish to conceive will be able to do so.

Changing your universe

Take into perspective that the older you are the more chances of your baby being born with a disorder (e.g., down syndrome, autism) increase. On television you’ve seen many celebrities ―like Celine Dion― who have given birth at a later season in life. With so many advances in science and technology, there is always help for every woman.

Also, don’t feel pressured to give birth, instead enjoy life ―you’ll know when it’s time to be a mom. If physically, you can’t have any children take into perspective that adoption is always an option to consider.
