Did you know? Wearing heels that don’t fit is bad for your back and health. According to an article on the American Osteopathic AssociationStatistics show that high heels are one of the biggest factors leading to foot problems in women...

Sure, most women (including myself) love the way heels look, but I’ve learned that if they don’t fit properly or feel uncomfortable the best thing is not to buy them. When I first began to wear heels, my mother taught me the importance of starting out with a small heel and eventually working my way up.

If you are about to graduate, the best option is to trust those heels which you could tolerate rather than paying for a pair that will remind you how comfortable the guys must feel. Walking around with uncomfortable shoes is not only embarrassing, but painful. The last thing you want the day of graduation is to leave early because your feet hurt or worst to fall!

3 things to keep in mind while shopping for shoes

  • Buy your size: Perhaps, the store ran out of your size in a specific style. Don’t buy a bigger or smaller size that won’t fit properly because if they fit too small your feet will hurt and if they fit too big your feet will slide.
  • Don’t think the shoes will stretch as you walk in them: 9 out of 10 times this is not the case, not only will the shoe not stretch but your feet and toes will be squished together.
  • If they look too high they probably are: When I first began to use stilettos I had already worn smaller heels before. Very high heels or even wedges take time to manage.

Ladies, if you know you can't tolerate heels, carry a pair of comfortable flat shoes with you. Sometimes it’s better to look different than to walk around barefoot or falling. Any woman could wear heels it’s all a matter of practice.

Please keep these handy tips and this epic story in mind when you shop for shoes.
