Have you ever gone through Facebook to see if a friend or family member is in it? The mother of a 13 year old, did just that – and did not only find a "fake" account, she found her little girl's page with inappropriate pictures and misleading information.
Throughout the video, the mother addresses that as a 13 year old her daughter shouldn’t be taking pictures while wearing a bra and lace panties; nevertheless with makeup on. Also, even though her little girl expressed on her Facebook page that she was a "freak" – her mom used examples which explained how someone who still watches caricatures shouldn't misguide people to think of her as nothing more than a child.
For some, the video is a way to embarrass a teen, but for others it teaches so many women -despite their age- that the internet is nothing to play around with. There are so many online sexual-predators and anonymous strangers on the lookout for young- innocent girls. As a parent it is important to teach children the negative side of social media, while implementing methods that will protect them.
Being a single mom implies taking the role of daddy while becoming the good and the bad person in the child's eyes. At 13, there is still so much to learn and what the mom in the video did was an act of love; trying to protect her daughter from negative future incidents.
Carefully monitor what your kids do online and who they speak to.
