Have you ever been called fat or too skinny?
If so, you’re not alone -- there are millions of women who feel bad about their appearance. “ Embrace” is a documentary which empowers women to love themselves despite of what society’s standards on beauty are.
In the documentary 100 women were asked to describe their bodies in 1 word: “ unperfect”, “ fat”, “ gross” and the most distressing was “ disgusting”.
How can a woman who doesn’t love her body teach her daughter to love hers?
Taryn Brumfitt, founder of the Body Image Movement was a fitness model who was extremely toned and considered by many at some point, to be"perfect”. When Brumfitt posted her before and after picture on social media, responses went viral. Many people couldn’t believe her change from being toned and slim into becoming a “fat” and “out of shape woman”.

Love what you see in the mirror
If you feel depressed about your appearance, don’t quit eating because this is bad for your overall health. Instead, visit a doctor and don’t be afraid to ask for help. It’s OK as women to try and look our best, but for any change to happen we have to accept who we are and what we look like.
