Caché, the store in which most of us purchased prom dresses has closed. Millions of women throughout the United States were shocked when the announcement was made. Despite this, many people were amazed to see high end pieces with red tags of up to 80% off. However, there seems to be hope!

There may be a chance

On what used to be an exquisite site to shop, there is now only a welcoming page stating:

Dear Loyal Customer, ALL CACHÉ STORES HAVE CLOSED. Please stay in touch while we explore next steps for the future.

However, the note does not end there! On the very same portal there is a section dedicated to the frequently asked questions. As an example, a lot of people were wondering why the sudden closure.

Under its previous ownership, Caché went out of business and closed all stores. Next steps for preserving the well-known Caché brand are being explored under new ownership.

But who exactly owns the company?

The Caché brand was purchased out of bankruptcy by the Cato Corporation, a leading specialty fashion apparel retailer.

As for any gift cards, store credit and/ or coupons the response was very clear.

Unfortunately, these cannot be honored. Under its original ownership, Caché went through bankruptcy proceedings in which it is not possible to honor any financial agreements with the previous company.

Ladies, if you loved the store keep your fingers crossed for any future openings. Caché was not only a retail store, but a place where a lot of women such as myself made memories from the wide variety of dresses and jewelry that were sold. Hopefully there is change!

What’s your opinion; were you just as surprised?
