Prep your skin the night before

  • Make sure to exfoliate all of your skin in the shower. There are a variety of body and face scrubs out there to choose from, find the one that works best with your skin type.
  • Shave the area(s) of your body where you don’t want any hair. I don’t recommend shaving after a spray tan because you’ll just shave off most of the tan.
  • Do not apply lotion! Your body is going to feel dry, but in order for the tan to be absorbed by the skin more efficiently it is important for your skin to be nice and fresh!
  • Don't wear any makeup; a face fresh works best. If you do go out, make sure to remove all makeup before going to bed.

After the tan

Try to wear clothing that fits loose. In the past, I made the mistake of wearing a  tight dress and most of the product was left on the dress not on my body. Also, follow the instructions on the box or can, if it says that you shouldn’t shower for 5 hours, don’t do so before. After you shower, apply a moisturizer. Women who tan themselves, have mentioned that moisturizing their tan has prolonged its life.
