How to cover up ACNE with FOUNDATION!

Acne is an insecurity that most girls deal with. Of course, with a face full of bumps and redness, walking around without makeup may not be an option to consider. With this in mind, I’ve created an easy ―how to― that’ll help you find the right foundation.

Finding the perfect foundation

Most women who experience acne may see redness on the affected areas. Bellow, are the properties to look for in foundations for acne prone skin:

  • Heavy duty - Foundations with this property will last for a very long time. This is perfect because you won’t have to worry about reapplying!
  • Full coverage - Some foundations may very light, barely covering up anything. Therefore use a full coverage, so that all bumps and redness blend in.
  • Containing no fragrances - Fragranced makeup contains more chemicals and could cause breakouts!
  • Gentle - At the makeup counter, specify that you need a gentle product that won’t irritate your skin.

Prime your skin

Before foundation, always use a primer and a moisturizer. On the market, you’ll find an array of moisturizers designed for people with all kinds of skin types; find the one that is right for you. A primer, will allow for the makeup to last even longer.

Perhaps, you may wonder if the foundation is already long lasting why the use of a primer? Very simple, a primer will extend your makeup’s life. It is always optional; give your long lasting foundation a try with and without.

Hydrate 

Find a mask that is “hydrating” and leave it on for an extra two minutes. Purchase a moisturizer that won’t dry up your face. Keep in mind that there are people with oily or dry skin, even with a combination of both. Dedicate your shopping spree an extra 20 minutes and you’ll find the right products.
