The Revolutionary Party Loses the Presidency. How does it affect 'El Chapo'?
In Season 2 of the series 'El Chapo', Joaquin Guzman bet on the party candidate in the Mexican government to get back his freedom. However, his future may be uncertain.

In the series ' El Chapo' Season 2, by 2000 Joaquin Guzman had spent several years in Puente Grande prison and wanted to get out of there no matter what.

'El Chapo' commissioned his lawyer to negotiate with 'Don Sol' to help him to achieve his political aspirations in exchange for gold bars. But 'Don Sol' refused his proposal so, 'El Chapo' will begin to weave a network of corruption and bribes to "have a good time" during his stay in prison.

While watching the news on a small television he has in his cell in Puente Grande, Joaquin Guzman finds out that 'Amado' is dead, and celebrates thinking that “pieces will be moved in his favor”.

The outgoing president, DEA´s head and 'Don Sol' meet to decide which cartel they are going to 'work' with. Benjamin and Ramon Avendaño are the chosen ones and 'Don Sol' talks to them about the terms of the pact with the government.

'The Chapo' learns that the government chose Avendaño brothers and looks for Ismael to ask him for help to get back his freedom.

Avendaño brothers drunk with power, begin to exceed in their actions and kill several government officials, triggering DEA's anger, which gives them an ultimatum.

'Don Sol' is in political campaign to become District IV Representative in Mazatlan. De la Torre, is the candidate for the presidency of the Revolutionary Party, "the strength of Mexico." Due to DEA's ultimatum 'Don Sol' meets with Ismael to wipe Avendaño brothers off the map.

Ismael asks 'Don Sol' to become an intermediary and plead for 'El Chapo' beforethe candidate for the presidency. The candidate De la Torre agrees on taking himout of prison once he reaches the presidency, in exchange for turning Avendaño brothers in and keeping peace among cartels.

The DEA makes an extradition request for Joaquin Guzman 'El Chapo'. And 'Don Sol' pleads not to proceed with the petition before the outgoing president. However, Joaquin is really anxious and wants to make a deal directly with the DEA.

'El Chapo' meets with three DEA agents in Puente Grande and lets them know that he can turn Avendaño brothers in if their government stop the extradition request. But the agents didn’t show any interest or willingness to make deals, which causes him a lot of frustration.

Is the Election Day, and 'Don Sol' looks forward for the results, confident in his victory. But the Revolutionary Party loses the election, thus De la Torre will not become the new president.

In Puente Grande prison, 'El Chapo' can’t absorb the news he just heard. News that kills all plans he had in mind.

'El Chapo' desperately asks his lawyer to look for somebody to negotiate with in the new government, warning him that the president is very close to the US government and he would give green light for 'El Chapo's' extradition. Joaquin Guzman asks him to speak with candidate De la Torre "maybe he lost the election, but as Secretary of the Interior, he still can do something for me."

Then, a high-level official arrives to Puente Grande, who was sent to help 'El Chapo'. "I'll tell you how I'm going to get out of here," 'El Chapo' says.
