Do you need to make a baby announcement? Or maybe you’re just prepping for when the exciting day arrives. Here are some cute ways to share the big news about your new baby including the method my husband and I went with to announce our daughter. Let the big brother or big sister do the honors. Put your older child in a t-shirt that says “Big Bro” or “Big Sis.” Put it up on your Facebook page and see who notices. Put the bun in the oven. Literally. Take a photo of a hamburger bun inside of your oven. Use a photo editing app to write, “Guess what?” over the image. Gaze into the future. Invite Grandma and Grandpa over for Chinese food. Use a tweezer to remove the slip of paper from a fortune cookie, replacing it with one you’ve typed saying something like, “Summer will bring a new addition to your family.” Get custom M&M’s made. Did you know you can have M&M’s printed with any message you’d like? My husband and I ordered a mixture of pink and lavender candies. Some said “R & C” and the others said “& baby makes 3!” We put them in empty baby food jars and gave them out to friends, family and coworkers. Make a movie poster. Take a photo of you and your husband holding a baby doll, bottles and diapers. Make it look like a movie poster. Write a caption like, “Coming Soon: Rob and Jenny 2: The Parenting Years.” Let the baby do the talking. Share baby’s first photo – the ultrasound shot! That’s all you need. As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words. Show off your bump. Take a photo of your adorable bump. Tag it #NoticeAnythingDifferent? Count off. Get matching t-shirts for the whole family. Plain, solid colored t-shirts or talks are fine. Then write Thing 1 and Thing 2 on the shirts for you and your partner. If you already have children, continue with the number thing on theirs. Line everyone up in their shirts for a photo. Hold a onesie indicating the next number. Ask for help. Send out a photo of a crib and ask, “Anyone know how to put one of these together?” Ooops, baby on the brain! Invite your nearest and dearest over for brunch. Serve baby carrots, mini quiche, baby spinach and other itty bitty foods. Serve a “Congratulations, we’re expecting!” cake at the end. What the most creative baby announcement you’ve seen?
