Scary moments for the 143 passengers and five crewmembers onboard Southwest flight 1380 heading to Dallas, TX from La Guardia, NY.
One of the Boeing 737-700 aircraft's engine had exploded damaging the fuselage and taking out one of the windows on the aircraft sending shattering glass everywhere. The flight had to make an emergency landing in Philadelphia, PA.
Passenger Marty Martinez shared a photo of the shattered window from the flight.
Passenger Joe Marcus shared this photo of the damaged engine on the aircraft.
Martinez caught some video on his phone of the situation.
In a statement by Martinez on Facebook saying: "I literally bought WiFi as the plane was going down because I wanted to be able to reach people I loved... thinking these were my final moments on earth." Martinez continued: "And put in a position to have to prioritize the people I loved to send them my final words was an absolutely gut wrenching feeling. So I thought to Facebook LIVE my experience, thinking this would be my last communication with the people I loved and my team back home."

All of the passengers were taken off of the flight. One passenger was declared dead according to the National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Robert Sumwalt. No further details were provided on how that passenger perished.
