Students of Robert E. Lee High School had a choice of three logos for the 2018/2019 school year. Current freshmen, sophomores, juniors and 8th graders who will be attending the school had the opportunity to cast their vote on their new mascot.

The majority of students selected the service dog mascot during their lunch periods from March 26th to March 29th.

At the begninning of the next school year, the current Confederate Gus logo will be switched to the service dog and the school's name will offically change from Robert E. Lee to the Legacy of Educational Excellence.

The school will keep the "Volunteers" name and the logo will retain the red and gray colors that represent the school.

On October 9, 2017 Northeast Independent School District voted 5-2 to rename Robert E. Lee High School to Legacy of Educational Excellence High School.

The high school was built in 1958 and is one of the district's oldest high schools. How do you feel about the changes?
