With only less than 24 hours away until Election Day, a lot of people are trying to figure out how to get to their designated voting stations. VIA is taking care of that with their "Ride VIA to Vote" inititive on Tuesday, November 8th.
“Civic involvement is one of our most essential rights and responsibilities. We at VIA are proud to provide the communities we serve vital connections and access to opportunity. By offering complimentary rides on Election Day, we are highlighting the important role public transportation can play in helping people engage in the process and have their voices heard,” VIA President/CEO Jeffrey C. Arndt said.
In order to get your free ride, all you need to do is show the driver of the bus or van your Voter Registration Card. The service is available to regular bus routes and VIATrans. VIATrans riders should schedule their trip accordingly with VIA's policies and procedures.
Taking advantage of the free ride is perfect for those who don't want to deal with the traffic or trying to find parking.
