According to 11 Alive, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Wednesday (September 21, 2016), Carlos Walker a.k.a. rapper Shawty Lo was found dead at the scene of a one vehicle accident on Interstate 285 in Fulton County, GA. Two women who were also riding in the same vehicle Shawty was driving are in unknown condition at an area hospital.
Authorities say they were probably speeding when Shawty lost control of his 2016 Audi then plowed into two trees before bursting into flames. Authorities confirmed that Shawty was ejected from the vehicle at the time of the crash where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shawty Lo was 40 years old and the founder of the hip hop group D4L. Shawty leaves behind nine daughters and two sons from ten different mothers.
Shawty's manager Johnnie Cabell tweeted: "My brother has passed he is no longer here but his spirit, his kind heart, and his music will live on Long live Shawty Lo King of Bankhead."
Members of the hip hop community also share their condolences via social media.
