On Monday night Gucci Mane was invited to perform in front of students at Florida Memorial University on November 7th. Guwop performed alongside T.I. and Rick Ross and others. In between performances, the rapper went to the podium to speak with the students about their right to vote.
Guwop said: "Young gets it done. Young people have an opportunity to make a big difference. Not just any young people, the young people in this room. Young people of color. Young people who come from neighborhoods surrounding this college."
While wrapping up his speech, Guwop touched on his incarceration by saying: "I wish I had my right to vote." Gucci Mane also stated: "I wish that I had my right to vote. I feel like after you serve your time, don't punish me for the rest of my life for something I already served my time for."

According to Georgia law, "Voting rights are stored after full sentence is completed. This includes probation, parole, and prison." Gucci Mane was released from prison in May but is still ineligible to vote. Guwop posted to Twitter saying "Vote for the ones who can't."
