Friday (July 19) the Stockholm court approved a request to hold Rakim Mayers or better known as A$AP Rocky for six additional days. The 30-year-old rapper is being held on the grounds as a flight risk.
Congressman Adriano Espaillat says that Swedish authorities are keeping Rocky in jail and has a feeling that they're going to indict him.
Back on July 5th, Rocky and two other men were detained for allegedly being involved in a street brawl. They accuse the rapper of assaulting a man in Stockholm on June 30th while in town for a tour stop.
On July 18th, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West have lobbied the White House in hopes to get President Trump to free Rocky. Trump has organized a team in attempts to getting him back to the United States.
Over 600,000 people including celebrities such as Diddy, Justin Bieber have signed the Change.org petition demanding Rocky's release. Musicians such as ScHoolboy Q and Tyler, the Creator have stated that they will never again perform in Sweden due to the incident.
Another hearing will be held on July 25th to see if they will keep Rocky any longer.
