Christian Serratos of The Walking Dead was casted to play the role late Selena Quintanilla-Perez in Selena: La Serie on Netflix. 28-year-old Serratos is of Mexican and Italian descent who grew up in Los Angeles.
Serratos played the role of Rosita Alvarez on The Walking Dead series since she was introduced in the fourth season. Serratos also starred on the Nickelodeon show Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide and also in the Twilight Saga films.
The new series will tell the story of Selena in more detail according to Executive Producer Moisés Zamora by following her music career, personal life and fashionista life that made her career.
The series is designed to play over two seasons with production beginning in Mexico next month. Selena's father, Abraham Quintanilla, Jr. Suzette Quintanilla and the family attorney, Simran A. Singh will serve as the Executive Producers.
