West Coast Rapper, Snoop Dogg released his debut studio album Doggystyle on November 23, 1993 via Death Row Records and Interscope Records.

The album was recorded right after the release of Dr. Dre's debut album The Chronic in 1992 in which Snoop Dogg contributed entirely by rapping on half of the 16 tracks including the hit singles.

Doggystyle was the first album to enter the Billboard 200 chart at number one. People claim that Doggystyle is a continuation of Dr. Dre's - The Chronic. Doggystyle had the same theme, production, aesthetic and nearly the same guest rappers on the album.

Doggystyle sold over 800,000 copies in the first week alone which was a record for a debuting artist and the fastest selling since Eminem released The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000.

The album was certified with a quadruple platinum status by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on May 31, 1994. In January of 1994, the album hit the Billboard Year-End Top Albums Chart at number three.
