Setting goals with the entire family is a healthy action at any time of the year and especially at the beginning of a brand new one. Why not get your family off on the right foot for New Year 2016 and add some healthier resolutions and activities into your every day family life.
Start 2016 with a new plan to eat healthier food at meal times. While a treat here and there is ok, if your family tends to eat junk food on a regular basis due to crazy schedules and last-minute dinners, it’s time for a healthy change. Think of adding more vegetables and lean proteins into your family’s diet, and skip on the dessert every now and then.

A new goal to spend time together on a regular basis is a fantastic way to start the New Year. Because of the hustle and bustle of busy schedules, after school activities and responsibilities these days, families do not have much time together in the day. Put aside time each night after dinner to play a game, watch a movie or just talk with each other about your lives.
Families that exercise more frequently are healthy and happier families. Exercise and sport is a great way to keep moods balanced and kids energized, as well as parents. Get outdoors more, play sports together, or sign up at the gym!
Learn New Skills
How about learning a new skill in 2016? Imagine spending time with your kids while learning how to paint, sculpt, or design something. There are so many opportunities for kids and parents to develop new skills and have fun while doing so.
Spend Less, Appreciate More
Teaching the kids to be more non-materialistic and to be more grateful for what they have is the perfect approach to a New Year and healthier attitude. Spend less money on buying random items and spend more time together, possibly even helping out in your community.
