It’s Monday, and even though it is a holiday in the US, and some of us can sleep late, this day is known as Blue Monday, the saddest and most depressing day since the beginning of the new year.

What is the story behind this? Apparently, the third Monday of January is when most of the population starts getting very tired of the cold weather and also starts feeling the financial burden of the excessive spending during the Holiday season.

Supposedly  this Monday, people feel very lonely and broken, which, we have to admit, is never a good combination of feelings.

The concept of Blue Monday started a few years ago when the Company Sky Travel mentioned it during a commercial, saying they came up with this date through a ‘scientific equation’, that has been questioned and disputed by many others experts.

Whatever is the origin, for many people this day is supposed to be very sad and blue, and lonely. They feel like the winter is already too long and they need a vacation, sun exposure, more money and more energy.

Probably by now, some of us have already broken our new year resolutions and that can also add a little bit of bad vibes.

But everything is very relative. You can have a great day, not sad at all, or just a regular Monday, which is always better than a blue (or grey) one.

How are you feeling so far?
