SANTANA ANNOUNCES 20-DATE SUMMER TOUR

Santana has announced a 20-date summer trek, dubbed the "Transmogrify" tour. The dates, which span between late-June and mid-September, were announced via Santana.com and promise, "passion-filled songs from their 40 years of career, including fan favorites from Woodstock to Supernatural and beyond." The upcoming jaunt is bookended by Santana's ongoing residencies at Las Vegas' House Of Blues, and kicks off on June 23rd and 24th at Woodinville, Washington's Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery and winds down on September 11th in Anaheim, California at House of Blues Anaheim Along the way, Santana will make stops in Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Montana, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, Tennessee, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

Of his many classic tunes, Carlos Santana told us he's yet to get tired of playing is his 1999 Grammy award-winning hit "Smooth," and says that he -- and the crowd -- never fail to find something new in the song night after night: "I'm very grateful that everywhere we play it brings something very celebratory. It validates not only the females, but the males as well. There is a need, especially at this time, for divine romance. Y'know, there's so much fear on this planet. As soon as you hear the song, you start dancing and celebrating. And although it talks about the relationship between a man and a woman, it basically talks about the relationship between us and the world." :
